OPEN MARTINEZ will be hosting a series of information sessions explaining the basics of a redevelopment Agency. The free, one-hour session, “Redevelopment Agency 101”, will help you to understand this confusing subject, so you can better judge its applicability in Martinez.

Forming the Redevelopment Agency and developing the first Project Area and Plan will be described. Hot button topics including eminent domain, tax diversions, tax increment financing and issuing bonds will be explained.

Joanne and I would like to thank you for the time and effort that you and Marshall gave in presenting a very fair and unbiased analysis of Redevelopment Agency. It was a very informative and thought-provoking presentation and the collateral materials are very useful as well. We live in the Virginia Hills area of Martinez and hadn't realized that the issue of Redevelopment could have an impact on us as well as everyone in Martinez. It is an issue that all of the citizens of Martinez should be more aware of. I strongly suggest that people from all parts of Martinez attend your Redevelopment Agency 101 workshops.
